Material Control Manager

POSITION TITLE: Material Control Manager SHIFT: 1st
SECTION OR DEPARTMENT: SEWS Electronics Division
REPORTS TO: Deputy Division Manager
LOCATION: Edmonton
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
BS Degree
8 plus years of experience in production and material control involving multi-level BOM and automated MRP II systems.
Specifically BPCS.
At least 2-3 years supervisory experience.
Proficient with Microsoft Office
BASIC POSITION DUTIES:
The Material Control Manager is responsible for all aspects of production control management including supervision of the production control planners, material control planners, material forecasts, MRP, ordering raw materials and components, expediting and tracking supply materials, 100% ON-TIME delivery to customers. Utilize principles of TPS/Lean Manufacturing, JIT and Kan-Bans to maintain low inventory levels while satisfying all internal and external customers.
Supervise production control planners, material control planners.
Ensure SEWS can meet 100% ON-TIME delivery for our customer through produciton and inventory control systems at the lowest possible cost.
Review MRP reports and place purchase orders and material releases to domestic and international orders for raw materials, components and assemblies. Maintain the lowest possible costs for transportaion, expedites.
Utilize TPS and Lean Manufacturing techniques to reduce costs including JIT inventory using Kan-Ban replenishment methods. Learn and teach Lean Manufacturing concepts throughout the supply chain.
Work with SEWS Engineering depts. To determine new parts and obsolete parts to insure adequate advance planning for change point control. Use systematic methods for build out control, prevent obsolesence.
Schedule and oversee the transportation of raw material deliveries and finished goods shipments. Monitor and reduce costs of transportation while maintaining a high degree of reliability and serviceability.
Check shortage reports and conduct meetings to monitor critical inventories and schedules on a regular basis. Insure adequate communications through trials, SOP, mass production and build out timing of products.
Create procedures and work instructions and insure adequate training for our associates to perform their jobs as needed. Reduce headcount/reallocate resources as needed to reduce costs.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to Deputy Division Manager. Supervises Production Control and Material Control Planners. Works closely with production managers, supervisors, and coordinators to support manufacturing. Works with design and production engineering for new and continuing products and processes. Works with SQA for supplier problems.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
